Forgiveness

An attitude of forgiveness is a little easier to develop when we remember that we are all doing the very best we can. And someday we, too, will need forgiveness.

Forgiveness can feel almost selfish because it feels so good!

    • Thomas Cromer says:

Forgiveness means you must forgive those people that have hurt you so you can move on with your life and always have your happaniess !!!!!!

  2. Chloeb says:

Most of all forgive ourselves, learn that our past is part of our stories, and then we can love and forgive others!!

It is impossible for an unforgiving alcoholic to live in true peace and happiness with a forgive God

  4. Philip Harding says:

To say to someone ‘I forgive you’ who has not asked for our forgiveness and may in denial of having hurt us is arrogant and a cause of resentments. Instead forgive in our hearts and treat the person then in that spirit.

I had the good fortune of watching a friend breakdown and cry as his wife
Got a 1 year chip today. The tears of joy made me remember my own 1 year chip many years ago.
I pray I can see my son get another chip someday.
I have learned that if it is to be it will be on Gods time not mine.
My sons addiction has not tested my sobriety however at times
I let it overwhelm my thoughts. I lean on my meditation and the serenity prayer
To bring me back out of my fear of his next overdose.
    Just needed to share. Thanks

If I’m lucky I’ll have 1 day tomorrow. I’m not that strong. My wife’s my higher power and its not good. Thank you for sharing. I needed to read that.

I just keep coming back. I may not understand all this AA talk, but, I just keep coming back. That was 4 years ago July 17. As far as a higher power? I look up into the sky and all around me. I call my higher power God.

      • Dave w says:

Don, none of us start out strong. Frankly the spiritual aspect
Can take a while to come to us. When I got sick and tired of being sick and tired I thought I would try this path instead.
It ain’t easy but if you find something to be great full for each day
And get to meetings and talk with another alcoholic before you know it the days add up.
I hope you keep coming back and learn to keep sharing it helps.
