We needed to ask ourselves but one short question. -“Do I now believe, or am I even willing to believe, that there is a Power greater than myself?” As soon as a man can say that he does believe, or is willing to believe, we emphatically assure him that he is on his way.

A new topic! Yes I believe in a higher power. Early in sobriety I struggled with what I thought was religion. I learned that it didn’t have to be what was beaten into me at a parochial school.
When I realized it was about spirituality not an organized hypocritical religion I got much more comfortable.
I have no doubt now if it wasn’t a higher power I would be dead, many times over. I am broke unemployed and facing interview rejections but ….. I am sober and very grateful for life and all I have.
    Just keep on keepin on!

  2. Dave w says:

Thomas thanks for asking! I am getting through this journey one day at a time brother.
    Hope you are well.

  3. Dave w says:

Congratulations! I’m guessing your higher power had something to do with it!
And you of course. Keep at it.

I am in a new area where there is a great need for those of us sober to show the newcomer AA works!! I get to show up & be of service. Thank-you for the reminder p. 47 in the BB!! Hope!!

  5. Jerry says:

Success in AA is all about doing the things we don’t want to , i.e. Get a sponsor work the steps , work with others …. to carry on what was so freely passed on to us …. We never have to sober up again !!!!
