Gratitude through Prayer

March 11, 2016 by Kayce L.

Ask God, the first thing each morning to help you stay sober that day; and at the end of that day thank Him for what He has done for you. Never get too busy or otherwise so preoccupied that you forget to show your gratitude to him. Like medicine for the soul taken regularly, in a full glass of honesty and sweetened with a heaping spoonful of humility, IT WILL RESTORE YOU!

Just what I needed! Thank you for this great support tool.

  2. Shane says:

I thank GOD for every day.I think GOD for every situation I encounter.I pray for the strength, knowledge and courage to make it through.I pray that I will always do what GOD would have me do and not what the world expected me to do.This does not mean I am always happy.I am however always blessed.

In rehab I was taught to write a letter to my higher
power first thing in the morning. In this letter I begin with an attitude of gratitude for life
and this day, the only day I really have. Then I would ask my higher power to remove the obsession
and that with god’s will I can stay sober just for today. If someone where to ask me if I can stay sober just for one day, I think that is a reasonable task. If I stay sober today and say that I’ll just go out tomorrow, days keep coming but tomorrow never comes. When it comes down to it, we can all stay sober just for today.
