Gratitude and Acceptance

May 29, 2015 by Kayce L.

Gratitude and Acceptance are two major keys in recovery. No matter what is going on in our life, Gratitude and Acceptance work. When we become feeling stuck, sad, or hopeless, we can try Gratitude and Acceptance. When we feel angry or scared. When all else fails go back to the basics. Gratitude and Acceptance for life and for all we have helps us in recovery. Living life on life’s terms.one day at a time.

Hi my name is Sandy, my sobriety date is April 14 2001. I have a daughter in law, Danielle. Feb 20, 2015 she decided to steal my car. Usually when we find the other 5 cars she has stolen, they have been found stripped!! No wheels or doors. So I made a police report with the officer in her town, so did my son, her husband. As of right now she is looking at 60 days in a woman’s prison , with a year probation. Under stipulations when she comes out and does no drugs for a year. Her drug of chose is herion and crack!! June 25th is her next court date, either she takes the 60 days or the judge takes over and he charges her with what he thinks she should get for punishment and it goes to a felony. She hates me right now, but she was not high when she stole my car, she was high in my car when it was found. I have known her since she was 18 yrs old, she’s now 31. Been married to my son for a year. I want to take this all away, but the state has taken over the case. I have no say in the matter anymore. Please pray for Danielle that this time in jail she gets it, the drug problem that is the big pink elephant in the room!!! She needs a divine intervention or she’ll die out there. She has my two grandsons Evan 10 yrs old and Luke 1 yr old. I wish her the best!! Thank you for listening. Sandy Alcoholic

    Sandy
I am a recovering alcoholic who came into AA thru the grace of God
And the rooms of AlAnon. Started by Bill’s wife, Lois, AlAnon is
A fellowship for people who are affected by the addictions of family
    And friends.
Find an AlAnon meeting. You will find people there who are willing
To share their experience, strength, and hope.
    Love and peace

To mike feeling alone surrounded by people.
I get that. But 65 days is early it will get better brother.
Try looking at that when you feel alone your higher power is carrying you.
The spiritual part of this recovery sometimes takes a bit longer.
Force yourself to share in meetings. It helped me open up.
Keep coming back. Before you know it things get better.
Probably hear that all the time but it’s true.
I have 10460 days. One day at a time sometimes one hour At a time.
