  1. Wake to a new Reality in Recovery

    September 22, 2016 by Kayce L.

Recovery awakens us from the nightmare of self-centeredness, strife, and insecurity that lies at the core of our disease. We wake up to a new reality: All that is worth having can be kept only by giving it away.
    ––––=––––

Our God helps us as we help others. We should seek help in giving away the love of our Higher Power has given to us, knowing that is the way to keep it.

  2. Surrendering to Feelings Sober

Our feelings of anger, disappointment or pain are some of the most difficult to face in recovery. We can get frightened and hurt all over again. Surrendering to these feelings, feel them, and let go of them. We can begin sharing these hurt feelings with others.I was a prisoner to a lot of anger and hostility towards certain people. I began opening up to my sponsor and my fellowship and i was helped with letting go and allowing God to start and heal all those resentments.

  3. A Fresh Start

    September 4, 2016 by Kayce L.

When I started this journey of recovery, I was overwhelmed by my feelings of resentment, anger, grief and fear. If I wanted to get and stay sober, I had to be prepared to get angry, cry and grieve to accept all of the feelings that I had been suppressing. With a fresh start and my program, I can easily do these things today. One Day at a Time. Start fresh, be open, be willing, and be honest.

Family and relationship conflicts, finances, looking for or starting a new job or resuming your old one, health worries — these are just a few of the many stressors you’ll likely be dealing with during recovery. Unfortunately, stress is a normal and unavoidable part of life, including part of living a sober life. So that means learning new, healthier ways to deal with tension and frustration.
Meditation and talking out what stresses us. Can help identify and relieve some of the stress. How do you deal with stressors?

  8. Having a Sponsor

Our sponsors can be abundant sources of recovery information, wisdom, and loving words. They’ve done so much for us. From the late night telephone calls to the hours spent listening to our recovery writing, they’ve believed in us and invested their time to prove it. They’ve lovingly and firmly shown us how to be honest. Their boundless compassion in times of turmoil has given us the strength to go on. Their way of helping has prompted us to seek our answers within ourselves, and we’ve become mature, responsible, confident individuals as a result.

“A lot happens in one day, both negative and positive. If we do not take the time to appreciate both, perhaps we will miss something that will help us grow.”
I am grateful for all the negative I have went through because it has brought me to such amazing positive place in my life and recovery.
