I can give everything to God, as I understand him, and I’ll be ok.. I give him worries, fears, and all of my many other character defects and he does for me what I could never do for myself.. I do not have a desire to drink any longer and I have serenity… I am reasonably happy in this life in my own skin and for that I am grateful … God never left me ; he carried me so long and then on August 22, 2013.. Set me down and my recovery along his side began.. He’s always there no matter what… If you’re new, there is hope just stick around for the miracles to happen !! Thank you for the topic!

    I surrendered on nov 28, 1986.
I do pray and I try my best to let God handle things.
In all honesty it is still hard to let go sometimes.
My brain sometimes runs amok with worry
Self doubt etc. not going to drink over it but it is a continuing challenge. I heard once that God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I just wish he didn’t trust me so much!
At my home group we say life is so much better but that doesn’t mean that the shit fairy doesn’t still visit you.

Read this, this morning thought I’d share. “We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there’s nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before we do anything at all. Prayer may be the most powerful tool we have.” The shit fairy has shown up here, and doesn’t seem to wanna depart. Years ago I mentioned life didn’t seem Fair, an old timer responded with FAIR is where pigs go to win ribbons. Every time I think life isn’t Fair I remember that old timer.

My will is my thinking, my life is my actions. Once you incorporate the 3rd step into your life it so no longer life on life’s terms it becomes life on Gods terms.
Practicing the principles changes you from an unprincipled human being into a principled human being.

Step 3 took me the longest to truly understand and I had a good teacher God himself on a scuba trip when I was struggling to sink to the bottom it wasn’t till I let go completely and stop struggling that I was able to sink to the bottom and at that point I realized God doesn’t need my help when I did it his way I was able to see the beauty in life remember you can’t change gods plan but if pray and talk to God you certainly can be a part of it
