Daily Imventory

October 23, 2015 by Kayce L.

When we retire at night, we constructively review our day. Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid? Do we owe an apology? Were we kind and loving towards all? What could we have done better? Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time? Or were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life? After making our review we ask God’s forgiveness and inquire what corrective measures should be taken. One day at a time.

Just think of resentments as people you may need to forgive them as your higher power to allow these people to come to mind pray about it and these people will come to mind 24/7. Then write these people down as they come to mind. Be careful as to have paper and pen with you at all times so you can write them down. Your conscious and sub mind will amaze you if you all them to come to mind. You can do it!

Bring the body and the mind will follow. All I had to do was begin to write God filled in the pieces.

    Kathy,

In the “Big Book” there’s a suggested format that starts on page 64. I just made a list of resentments I had (toward people or institutions), why (how I had felt angry or hurt), what area of my life was damaged (pride, finances, sex/relationships, etc), then I eventually considered what my part was and looked for other ways to think about the situation. Usually after doing this step, I felt I could let go of my anger by forgiving that person for being an imperfect person (as I am), or I could pray to get to that point. I could ask God to help me see and take responsibility for my actions that either started the conflict or kept it going. Once I went on to step 5, and shared my list with my sponsor, she helped me figure out what else I needed to do. What a gift of freedom it was to actually work through those things and get to a much healthier way of thinking and living!

    Hi

Why wouldn’t you ask a recovered person that is willing to show you what they did and worked for them and do what they tell you if they seem like they have something you’d want to have…The method of following along together with another addict has worked since day 1 aa started.

    Best wishes
