Spiritual Awakenings

––––=––––
Though we all work the same steps, each of us experiences the spiritual awakening resulting from them in our own way. The shape that spiritual awakening takes in our lives will vary, depending on who we are.

Although I’ve had my share of spiritual experiences, part of me is still waiting for the burning bush

Once a man knows, his cornerstone is set in place. But, I can’t stay sober on yesterday’s Spiritual Experience. Each day is a day to seek His will for me. It’s practice practice practice for me.not perfection

My first spiritual experience was a white light and warmth feeling along with a sense of peace and joy (not my usual emotions)on the deck of a ship near the Antarctic. I had my last drunk that night. 36 years 3 months ago. I keep this memory green. Great topic Kayce!

I seem to have spiritual awakenings quite often as long as I stay spiritually fit. I used to call them coincidence but now I don’t believe in coincidence .. It can be anything from needing a meeting with a certain topic with certain shares and not realizing it until I get there and it happens. I know that my higher power got me to AA..keeps me sober each day and for that I am grateful. I don’t need a burning bush because for someone like me that drank like I did and was ready to die everyday to be happy joyous and free now it’s a miracle. I could not do this by myself. When I’m not spiritually fit I get signs that warn me. I don’t know if this share helps anyone but apparently I needed to get on here and read this and share! Thank you all for being here!!

Dave C. I used to be just like you, looking for that “burning bush” until i realized that i was that bush. God did for me what i couldn’t do for myself. He worked a miracle in my life. My life now, my story and who i am today is that bush but it’s for others. Look at some folks with good long-term sobriety and maybe you will see a bush also.

  7. Greg R says:

When i stay in the current of Gods grace, keeping calm, remaining steadfast and ready to accept anything he gives me, good or bad, not reacting, quieting the negative chatter, gifts are abundant.

When I need strength, I know it’s there, I just need to ask for it . The act of asking, allows you to release thy bondage of self.

I have a few favorite spiritual experiences. One . I was at an aa meeting and I was needing to here about forgiveness and what do you know, the daily reader was about forgiveness and away it went!
