Amends in Sobriety

March 9, 2017 by Kayce L.

We must be willing to make amends where we have done harm, provided that we do not bring about still more harm in doing so.Pg 69
When I was ready to make amends I had to learn this the hard way. So I made the amends to myself and my Higher Power. It helped me overcome the guilt and shame of my wrong doings.

Yes, making amends to myself & my Higher Power really helped! I had no idea how alcoholism affects one so deeply until I did the work of the Steps. Making amends is a powerful tool. Willingness is the key daily!!

I was so cruel to myself and AA has taught me to be kinder and more forgiving to myself and others. I am grateful for the fellowship that opened my eyes to prayer, love and hope.

Guilt is a pain in the ass I’ve done bad things sober
If I try and make amends it could destroy my family
So I ask gods forgiveness just about every day and it eats me up
That I did something so stupid sober my sober date is 02-15-07
And for that I’m truly greatful and I’m sure a drink would fix everything
For a few minutes but I need a permanent fix so I’m typing this shit
To a bunch of people I don’t know and will probably never meet
Thank god for Aa and the people in it
