Turn it over , get outta the way, let it happen, Don’t fight it. These are thing an old timer told me when I was new to the program . I didn’t understand at the time. But I thank God I do now. Truly Yours, a member of the slow learners club. 🙂

Everyday I begin with prayer and I thank my higher power for life and for my day to be gods will for me not my will for me… My will got me drunk and created heartache for everyone around me. I had so much shame I carried with me into this program …this simple (not easy) program that helps me to participate in my own life today. To live sober and have serenity… Gods will not mine be done.. It works- it did for this drunk

Turning your will ( thinking ) and your life ( actions ) over to the care of God is best accomplished by getting out of your life and trying to help someone else.

I’ve been using this app for almost 3 years, but this is my first time posting a comment. My surrender date is July 15, 2013. I used alcohol and drugs for 17yrs. And I never drank like a lady. I drank to relieve the stress and pain of life. I didn’t know anything about a loving God. I thought God and religion were the same thing. AA has given me the freedom to have a relationship with the God of my understanding. I now turn my will and my life over to the care of God every day. My pride and my ego used to stop me from asking for help. AA has taught me humility. Humility is not thinking less of oneself, it is thinking of oneself less. That was a real eye-opener for me. I realized that I don’t have to try to be on control of everything. I can let God be in charge and I can stop fighting. By turning my life and my will over to the care of God, I have been given the ultimate freedom. I am free from worry, stress, anxiety, and fear.
